Shooter buck I could have harvested him in his bed at 2.5 years old. Hey is super wide but no real mass. He fights between being a 7 pt and just barely an 8 pt. He doesn't have a big body and wouldn't score well. But if I see him I would take him . He is tall and wide and would be a cool harvest. Checking first ice !!! Be careful out there when heading out on first ice . Makesure you check it the day before in the light and not dark . There is so many different situations for ice with currents, springs,structures and wind. Know your ice and check every spot your going to be walking . Ice doesn't freeze evenly. Well finally rested up from the Quabbin hunt . Took my best buck this year and never got him on cam . I heard some other guys knew this buck. Great group of friends on this hunt . One of the best years we had . Ow on to fill the last tag. Got some shooters moving again. Good luck and God bless.

So the videos will explain this day and what it meant to me , we all push hard and give it all we can for chances at punching a tag . I did 60 miles in here scouting and moving cams. Have a good group of friends that were also successful. Today I was emotional after the shot. I realized how important life is and how in a second it can be taken. Back to back years last year and today . This buck is called the Papi buck. My Stepfather Mike had a heart attack last year today. I shot a 9 pt last year and now a 9 pt this year. Then then 2 month after this my Father had a stroke . Life is precious let someone know you love them. 2 doe seen first morning, 4 pt in the afternoon. Deer are definitely moving naturally again . I watched the doe's come out of some nasty stuff and bed in the morning. The buck cane out and fed , had some great movement on the cams lastnight till current. Hopefully I'll see a chooter soon, trying to pick the right spots to catch them day walking.
